REVALIDATION SUPPORT - NURSES UK

Revalidation – What Is It?

Beginning in April 2016, revalidation is the new mandatory process which all midwives and nurses across the UK will need to go through in order to keep up with their registration with the NMC.

A quick an easy process, completed online, revalidation allows nurses and midwives to prove they practice safely, securely and effectively. Revalidation enables you to Revalidation lasts for three years before you have to apply again in order to maintain your registration.

What’s Required to Revalidate?

  1. 450 practice hours, or 900 if renewing as both a nurse and midwife
  2. 35 hours of CPD including 20 hours of participatory learning
  3. Five pieces of practice-related feedback
  4. Five written reflective accounts
  5. Reflective discussion
  6. Health and character declaration
  7. Professional indemnity arrangement
  8. Confirmation
